The Bamboo forest, the monkeys and a ride around the streets for the boys

We headed out to see the bamboo forest this morning. The train station has a great Kimono installation - like a forest. One of the kimono patterns was unusual ....

Lucy went and saw a beautiful garden and we went to the see some monkeys. We were  a little sceptical - as we have never seen the monkeys before - but this was an impressive display of monkeys - as we walked up we started to see monkeys in the trees, and on the ground.  It was a lotof fun.

The boys also got a ride with a fellow around the streets of this area - and had a great time. He taught them to say - hello we are twins - to great effect!

Geisha stalking in Gion

we aren't proud

of this - but Rob says if the Japanese govt use the Geisha as a symbol of Japan then we must be allowed to take photos ....

Kyoto

We left Niseko on the 10th and migrated south to Kyoto. A flight from Sapporo to Osaka and then a bus (odd trip where no-one moved over to let us sit down) - then to a hotel in a great part of kyoto.

last day in Kashi Lodge - great house - great family

chatting

on the philosophers walk - Kyoto

we had a zen meal - tofu 7 ways ... it was great
