Liv, Lucy and I hit Asakusa and surrounds. It is the last day (we hope) of the New Year holiday - and there were masses of people around the temple. It made it pretty challenging trying to get to the station. You can't really get a sense of the sheer number of people from the photos - but it was heavy going - especially with bags...
We of course saw more dogs - what is it about dogs and shrines ....at least we know where they buy their clothes now. Didn't buy Diego, Donatello or Abby anything
Liv did have another encounter with a Tokyo girl - and we did run into these glamours as well
In case you were wondering - we think the next trend to hit our shores is tattoo stockings - the tattoo you have that won't be for ever> I could be completely wrong - last time we were in japan I thought furry leg warmers would be the thing, and it was not to be. However - these are a bit of fun.
We have come to Kamakura - and probably more detail about the accommodation tomorrow, but it would be fair to say that I thought it was going to be a Japanese Ryokan and it is a Japanese Guest House - quite different. Think Boutique hotel v Youth Hostel. But got to be good for us all!
Tomorrow we will get to explore the area - but tonight we came across a road lined with lanterns - gorgeous. Love the pop up Paddy in this one.
Last night Paddy and Cam both helped translate a menu that had no English at all. We have very often ended up on 2 tables of 4 and it is very useful to have one of the boys on each table to assist with some Japanese help.
Well til tomorrow ..
